Barrie 2012 Earth Hour Music Festival
Was A Great Success!
Thank you to all our past sponsors, great bands & entertainers, and as well those who joined us downtown Barrie for making our past events the largest Canadian celebration of Earth Hour for four years in a row.
We want to thank all our 2012 Sponsors for their support. We are proud to have had PowerStream, OLG and GEEP as our 2012 Presenting Sponsors.
Economic conditions pull the plug on the 2013 Barrie Earth Hour Music Festival
It is with deep regret that we must inform you that the 2013 Barrie Earth Hour Music Festival will not be held on March 23, 2013 as planned.
Although the Board put forward an incredible effort and successfully retained wonderful sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor,PowerStream , for the event, the economic environment prevented us from securing sufficient funds in time to put on an event of the calibre worthy of the citizens of the City of Barrie and Simcoe County. We would like to thank all the sponsors who came forward in past years, demonstrating their commitment to the community and the environment through this venue.
The Festival enjoyed stellar success for four years from 2009 through to 2012 and has been recognized as the largest Earth Hour celebration in Canada since its inception. Although the festival will not be held as planned, the organizers ask that you encourage your workplace, family and friends to participate in the 2013 Earth Hour initiative by making a conscience effort to shut off all unnecessary lights and appliances on March 23rd between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.
Together we can turn the inspiration of one hour into the actions of every hour!
What is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour is a global climate change initiative run by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The WWF is calling on individuals and businesses to turn off non-essential lighting for one hour on Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
